OWI Welfare Foundation
Owi Welfare Foundation is a non-profit organization, registered under the Registrar of Companies under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013.
It is founded by Sangita Dhaigude, Rtrd. municipal commissioner, with the vision of working for the empowerment of underprivileged women to become economically independent through education and upscaling business.
Women in slum areas receive standard education but it does not provide them with the skills required for jobs within the formal economy. In addition, because of household responsibilities, lack of financial support, safety reasons, etc., their family is hesitant to send women out of town for education or jobs. Ultimately they end up doing household work and/or agricultural labour work.
Our Aim

- To guide women to establish their own businesses and become financially independent.
- To introduce products manufactured by underprivileged women to the global market to increase their income and alleviate poverty.
- To provide them with Health and medical checkup and medical help.
- To educate their children and underprivileged students by connecting to other organizations and guiding them to undertake Indian and state-level civil exams.
- To make a difference in the environment through tree plantation and guidance on solid waste management.
